BMP improves implant success

Using a bone-creating protein to augment the maxillary sinus could improve dental implant success, according to Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) researchers. Dental implants won’t work if the bone in which they are anchored is too thin. Bone-thinning is a common cause and consequence following tooth loss.

Montreal to welcome dentists from around the world

Canadian dentists go local for dental labs

NEW YORK, NY, USA/LEIPZIG, Germany: Less dentists in Canada are having their denture prescriptions fabricated in the United States and offshore, a new survey by the Dental Industry Association of Canada (DIAC) has revealed. From 1,000 dentists who responded to the survey in 2009, only 2,3 per cent was sending their prescriptions outside the country – a decline from 4,6 per cent in 2008.
