Patients are getting better educated when it comes to spending hard-earned money on costly procedures such as dental implants. It seems the biggest barrier to treatment is financial when it comes to offering patients implants, and patients are calling around looking for price comparisons. One of the biggest misconceptions in the dental industry is, if something costs less, then there is a compromise; and it’s definitely not something you’d want to put in your patient’s mouth.
Patients seem to be taking a more proactive approach in learning about the different treatment modalities, materials and costs.
As one of the world’s longest-running implant companies, operating in 30 countries, AB understands that cost is a barrier to treatment around the globe. “We are offering superior technology at affordable prices,” said Dr. Milli Raviv, former professor at McGill University Faculty of Dentistry and director of AB Dental Implants — Canada. “AB has built its reputation on creating the most innovative designs and broadest choice of prosthetic components in the implant industry at reasonable cost.”
Raviv said many dentists and surgeons are looking for lower-cost implant solutions for their patients and are getting tired of trying to offer high-priced implants and components with little success and without an alternative. AB not only has one of the lowest-priced implants in the Canadian market at $165, but also offers prosthetic components at more than 60 percent less than most companies. The AB implants system is 100 percent compatible with Zimmer, BioHorizons, BIOMET 3i and Implant Direct.
Based in Israel, AB has a proven track record of creating and manufacturing superior implant technology that offers unique patented abutments such as the offset ball attachment, switch platform and angulated abutments for extreme angled implants. It also has the shortest implants in the industry at 5 mm.
1,300 implant types in world
A 2007 review of the implant industry reached this conclusion: “More than 1,300 types of dental implants are now available in different materials, shapes, sizes, lengths and with different surface characteristics or coating. However, the review found there is not enough evidence from trials to demonstrate superiority of any particular type of implant system.” (Esposito M et al., Interventions for replacing missing teeth: different types of dental implants, Review, Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2007 Oct 17;(4):)
“Costs are coming down; that happens all the time with technology and health-care products as competition increases. It’s happening right now in the dental implant industry in Canada,” Raviv said. “We don’t want cost to be a barrier for dentists to get set up or pursue education.” AB offers a significantly lower start-up cost to dentists and offers day courses for placement and prosthetics at $750 per course.
The public’s desire for dental implant treatment has driven the success of companies such as AB as high-quality and cost-effective solutions are becoming available in Canada. AB is committed to offering the most versatile implant components at the best prices possible.
“We want our dentists to succeed and offer the best service to their patients at reasonable cost,” Raviv says. “We give them the tools and the confidence to do that.” Courses are taught by Dr. Eli Raviv, professor of Prosthodontics at McGill University Faculty of Dentistry, who has a rich and successful 25-year history in implantology. AB also offers implant cadaver courses for advanced implant placement, sinus lifts, bone augmentation and ridge splitting. It offers chairside assistance from clinical professionals. AB sales representatives are clinical professionals with extensive backgrounds in implantology and are always available to help you in your office, over the phone or by Skype.
