TORONTO, Ontario, CANADA: Azento single tooth replacement solution is transforming the digital implant workflow by streamlining implant planning, purchasing and delivery, according to Dentsply Sirona, the company behind the product. The solution is custom-designed for each patient and tailor-made for every dental practice, the company said.

With Azento, a clinician submits digital scans (from imaging systems such as the Orthophos SL and intraoral scanners like CEREC Primescan or Omnicam) through a user-friendly case management portal, and within one business day receives a completely customized treatment plan based on the individual patient’s scans.

Once the plan is approved, the clinician will receive the Azento box at their office within five business days, which includes all components and instruments necessary to complete a single tooth implant treatment, including a surgical guide, the implant and a custom healing abutment to contour the emergence profile and enable a final esthetic result. This eliminates the effort of coordinating purchases with multiple suppliers and monitoring inventory in the office.

“Azento was designed to improve the implant experience for dentists and patients alike,” said Jo Massoels, vice president global marketing and solutions, Dentsply Sirona. “The streamlined workflow solution reduces administrative responsibilities as well as the number of patient visits and chair time required. These real cost and time-saving benefits are intended to have a positive impact on dental practices.”

Azento enables practices to achieve consistently excellent results thanks to the customized and prosthetically driven treatment plan, which also helps communicate the procedure clearly to patients.

“Azento provides a level of accuracy that all of us — dentists and patients can appreciate allowing us to further reduce the risk of complications, ensure accuracy of the implant placement and produce consistently excellent results,” said Dr. Dan Butterman, a general practitioner in Centennial, Colo.

Azento is available for the Astra Tech Implant System EV in Canada. The solution is available for custom healing and immediate temporization procedures. The final restoration can be done by the clinician utilizing Atlantis and CEREC or the core file can be sent to a dental lab for completion.

Azento is currently available in the United States and will be available in several European countries later this year.
