Pacific Dental Conference a success in Vancouver!

The Pacific Dental Conference returned to the Vancouver Convention Centre and an in-person meeting with more than 100 sessions and techniques and products from more than 225 companies.

A wide assortment of hands-on courses were available for attendees at this year’s conference ranging from digital dentistry to hygiene to orthodontics. Some of the sessions included “Management and Prevention of Gingival Recession” by George Merijohn, where attendees learned about avoiding gingival recession and how to keep it from coming back after treatment. Beth Parkes educated attendees on the use of lasers in your practice with her lecture on “10 Reasons Why, Implementing Lasers in your Practice.” Michael Parchewsky and Vishal Sharma helped attendees and their team stay tech savvy with their presentation called “Digital Opportunities, Utilizing Technology to Improve your Treatment Plans.”

Attendees looking for hands-on experience got that on the exhibit floor. There was a live dentistry stage taking place and several live demonstrations showcasing the latest trends and practices in the field of dentistry.

As an attendee at PDC, there was the opportunity to earn C.E. credits. C.E. credit was given for general attendance, up to a maximum of five hours, and hour-for-hour credit for individually attended courses. You can earn up to 20 C.E. credits at this year’s event.

Attendees were also able to take a trip to Europe without leaving British Columbia. A special wine tasting event will be took place in the Vancouver Convention Centre West Ballroom Foyer with vintages from Portugal, France, Italy and Spain.

Need to get a good stretch in after spending all day on your feet? Join Cheryl Landrigan held a yoga session overlooking the Vancouver Harbor. Whether you are a pro at yoga or it’s your first time, you were able to learn yoga postures and breathing exercises.

The Tooth Fairy Gala was the capstone event. The gala was held in the Vancouver Convention Center West Ballroom. It included a four-course dinner with wine as dentists throughout the province were honored. The money raised from the event benefited the British Columbia cancer patient dental emergency fund.
